Thanks for everyone who made it out to The Future of Music Showcase last SXSWeekend. We’ve literally been recovering allllll week, catching some TX sun at the greenbelt and gearing up for MORE LIVE MUSIC throughout the year. Here are some pictures and a quick recap of Eye in the Sky’s showcase:
Through Friday of SXSW and a St. Patrick’s Day Saturday, The Future of Music Showcase managed to pack out Shiner’s Saloon with over 28 bands spilling a mixture of pop, soul, indie, folk, hip-hop and electro-rock out the 2nd story windows onto Austin’s Congress Avenue.
The venue had record attendance with a lively, mixed crowd of local, devoted fans, out-of-town SXSW attendees and hypnotized passer-byers being treated to some of the best up and coming bands from Austin and beyond.
Highlights included smashing sets from SORNE, EPIC RUINS and Sour Soul, sing-a-longs with Wild Child, Whiskey Shivers and Hello Wheels, awesome breakfast sets with Shakey Graves and Suite 709 accompanied by free breakfast tacos and Shiner’s 60 yr old owner “Pops” climbing onto the bar to view a packed out crowd bouncing with ZEALE.
