Lots of awesome happenings around the town this weekend! White Ghost Shivers, along with Whiskey Shivers and East Cameron Folkcore will be giving all their lovin’ Friday night at Antone’s. We recently talked about ECF for their CD release show back in early May, they’re now back from their tour and this will be their first show since. Whiskey Shivers, who last weekend played the Annual Texas Swing Festival benefiting individuals living with HIV, will be there to serenade us. You can count on some great down-home harmonies and bare-foot dancing from these guys. The White Ghost Shivers will top off the night with some their famous dixieland, hot jazz or ragtime tunes, which ever you prefer, they’ve got it all. And kudos to them for all of their success at the Austin Music Awards this year! It looks like they will be traveling and playing lots of shows this summer, including Harvest Fest up in the Ozarks, so definitely keep an eye out for these guys.
Next, we are excited to announce that The White White Lights will be playing Saturday night at Skinny’s Ballroom. These guys have been doing an awesome job for themselves and generating lots of buzz throughout the indie scene in the last two years. Touted as Best New Austin Band in 2010, they have a unique way of blending their many different sound into each song. This is going to be their last show until the end of June, so come see them along with The Sweet Nuthin and Nic Armstrong. Check out the show page here and for a listen of their latest EP “Medium Head Boy” click here.
Also on Saturday, Austin indie rock group Major Major Major will be having their vinyl release party hosted by Vagabond Collective at 29th St. Ballroom, with Knifight, Selva Obscura and Milezo & the Noize. MMM has been noted numerous times for their passionate and energetic live performances. This being their vinyl release, it’s sure to be a very entertaining evening.
So thank you so much for reading, and we hope to see you out this weekend! Might I suggest hydrating and maybe doing some down dogs beforehand, stretch those legs a little you’ll thank yourself later.
