Weekend Preview: Amplified Heat, Suite 709 and Wild Child’s back!

After a glorious double-holiday weekend and some big Texas summer rain, another weekend of live music is upon us.

Starting this Thursday, our favorite slowburning, fast-smoking band of brothers, Amplified Heat are tearing up The Continental Club on South Congress. Performing as well is Grady, so prepare for a big stack of amps, a wall-of-sound and “two of the loudest power trios to survive [Austin’s] hipster invasion.”

Also, this Thursday for our San Antonio friends, might we recommend the soul-pop extraordinaires- Suite 709, performing at Jack’s Patio Bar in support of their new release, Night & Day

Friday our countrified pals, Sons of Fathers open for Dwight Yoakum at ACL Live. Get ready for Guitars, Cadillacs and motherf*’n Sons of Fathers.

Then this Saturday, our beloved children of the wild, Wild Child have returned home safe from tour. Fresh off performances with The Avett Brothers and Third Eye Blind, they’re back to play The Parish with Marmalakes, Shakey Graves and Sadie &the Blue Eyed Devils.

Be sure to catch something good this weekend. Bring your friends, share your pics and  tell us about it.
